Born as “miracle babies”, Joshua and Joseph’s early days were filled with uncertainty due to the life-threatening obstacles they faced before coming into the world. Diagnosed with developmental delays that left their family unsure of their future, at just six months old the twins began their journey at Unlimited Possibilities’ Pediatric Therapy Center in Santa Ana, CA.

Due to feeding delays, both of the boys focused on strengthening their feeding and swallowing abilities during their visits. UP‘s feeding therapy program provided each child with personalized strategies to make eating different foods, textures, and self-feeding possible. Over the next 4 years at UP, Joshua and Joseph continued to develop many more abilities including sitting up, crawling, and walking.

Joshua and Joseph not only gained confidence in their own skills, but their mother Shantel leaves every session with a renewed sense of hope, support, and guidance, knowing her sons are receiving leading-edge treatment. She shared,“UP is always finding new ways to meet the boys where they are, and innovate ways to help them meet their milestones. They also provide me with the tools I need to support them at home.”

Today, you can find Joshua and Joseph independently walking, talking and feeding; bonding over their love of action figures and Paw Patrol. With cross-functional and tailored treatment plans in place along the way, UP will remain a pillar of support through every stage of Joshua, Joseph, and Shantel’s journey.
