A place for friendship and adventure, where inclusion thrives! UP to Us Club offers monthly, seasonal, and ongoing activities to children and teens with and without disabilities. 

UP to Us Club is for children and teens, with and without a disability ages 5-21. We have art and dance classes, field trips, carnivals, family picnics, and club days.

BIKE CAMP

iCan Bike Camp 2025 will be August 4-9 in Irvine!

Registration will be March 3-16, 2025 for children with disabilities ages 8 and up. Please look back at this page in March to register.

The mission of iCan Bike Camp is to provide unique learning opportunities in recreational activities for people with disabilities. Each person’s abilities are embraced and nurtured to foster an environment where everyone can shine!  

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION  

  • Each rider attends the same 75-minute session each day of camp (M – F)  
  • 5 consecutive days (M – F) and 5 consecutive 75-minute sessions per day  
  • Each rider has 2 volunteer spotters
  • Riders will ride specialized adapted bicycle designed to teach them to balance appropriately
  • The first two days of camp (Monday & Tuesday), will take place in a contained rink on adapted roller bikes. Beginning on the third day (Wednesday), some riders may graduate to a two-wheeler bike and transition to riding outdoors spotted by their assigned volunteers

REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION (Rider must meet all of below criteria): 

  • Minimum age – 8 years old 
  • Able to sidestep to both sides 
  • Have a disability 
  • Able to walk without assistive device 
  • Must have the desire to ride a bike
  • Maximum weight 220 lbs. 
  • Wiling and able to wear a properly fitted bike helmet 
  • Minimum inseam of 20” (measure from floor while rider is wearing sneakers) 
  • Accompanied by parent/guardian willing and able to intervene or assist staff as requested by in addressing any prolonged disruptive or aggressive behavior 
  • Able to attend all 5 days of camp 
  • Parent/guardian able to attend mandatory 1 hour orientation on                  Sunday, August 3

INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING?

Volunteer registration will open this summer. Volunteers must be age 15 or older, active, and able to attend the same 75-minute session Monday – Friday                    (August 4-9).
